Editorial Comments 1

Correspondence 1 indicates: publication of a paper in which Garcia et al. (Amer. J. Bot. 98: 638–653. 2011) showed ITS + ETS nuclear rDNA data that Sphaeromeria is phylogenetically nested in Artemisia, as mentioned in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] under the Sphaeromeria genus description, and that Chris Hobbs' work confirms that result with additional sampling in Sphaeromeria as well as with cpDNA work; and that new combinations in Artemisia were made in Western North American Naturalist [71(2):158-163. 2011], except in the case of Sphaeromeria potentilloides var. nitrophila (with 7 records in CCH), leaving Artemisia potentilloides with no infraspecific names.
