Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 16 Nov 2004 e-mail from Barbara Ertter, including attached summary of determinations of specimens in UC, DAV/AHUC, and CDA of Rytidosperma (Danthonia) by Henry Connor and Stephen Darbyshire. see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates, in attachment, specimen(s) in UC, DAV/AHUC, and CDA of Rytidosperma caespitosum (Gaudich.) Connor & Edgar, identified by Henry Connor and Stephen Darbyshire, from possibly naturalized populations in CA, including: Alameda Co.: -- NW edge of Strawberry Canyon on E edge of main UC-Berkeley campus, eucalyptus woodland, 26 Jun 2003, B. Ertter 18231a (UC) [with R. richardsonii]; San Mateo Co.: -- Cascade Ranch State Park, between Whitehorse Creek and Cascade Creek, 4 Aug 1992, G. Clifton s.n. (UC)
Correspondence 2 18 Nov 2004 e-mail from Kim Kersh see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 1 indicates that UC1738942 has been annotated as Rytidosperma caespitosum (Gaudich.) Connor & Edgar by H. E. Connor, that Barbara Ertter says we will file the specimen according to this annotation, and that the specimen was previously determined to belong to Danthonia pilosa.
Correspondence 3 28 Apr 2015 e-mails from Keir Morse see Comment 3
Editorial Comments 3 Correspondence 3 indicates that Keir Morse found thousands of plants belonging to Rytidosperma caespitosum (Gaudich.) Connor & Edgar in a population (in the northwest corner of Black Mountain Open Space Park in San Diego County near San Dieguito Rd.) that Fred Roberts had vouchered 10 years ago with the statement that the plants at that time were "fairly frequent" there, suggesting that the population has grown, and that there are some more recent collection elsewhere (e.g., south of San Francisco), suggesting that the taxon is spreading. [Therefore, Current Status changed to Jepson Flora Project-2, from Jepson Flora Project-3 previously in this Index, 29 Apr 2015.]
