| Editorial Comments 2 | Correspondence 2 indicates that the basionym for Ambrosia salsola is properly cited as Hymenoclea salsola Torr. & A. Gray, published by A. Gray in Mem. Amer. Acad. Arts, n.s. 4(1): 79--80 (1849). Correspondence 1 goes on to point out that Gray ascribed the name to "Torr. & Gray, l. c." referring back to his reference for the genus name, "Torr. & A. Gray, Fl. ined.", that the Hymenoclea name was a new names for a new taxon, and that the exception in ICPN Art. 46.2, "Art. 46.4 notwithstanding, authorship of a new name or combination must always be accepted as ascribed, even when it differs from authorship of the publication, when at least one author is common to both" applies in this case, so that "Torr. & A. Gray" is the proper citation. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Ambrosia salsola (Torr. & A. Gray) Strother & B. G. Baldwin, from Ambrosia salsola (A. Gray) Strother & B. G.
