| Editorial Comments 2 | Correspondence 2 indicates that, according to The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] as well as Tropicos and International Plant Names Index, the author citation should be Agoseris heterophylla (Nutt.) Greene var. cryptopleura Greene. [Although there is reference by Greene to Nuttall's Cryptopleura californica on the same page as the protologue for var. cryptopleura (Pittonia 2: 179. 1891), it is under Agoseris major, and there is no other reason to treat this name an anything but new, with Greene as the sole author. Therefore, author citation corrected to Agoseris heterophylla (Nutt.) Greene var. cryptopleura Greene, from Agoseris heterophylla (Nutt.) Greene var. cryptopleura (Nutt.)
