Buck in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1] belongs instead in Caulanthus, in which genus it should be called Caulanthus anceps (Greene) Payson (Ann. Missouri Bot. Gard. 9:303. 1923) because the specific epithet lemmonii was already in use for a different plant (Caulanthus lemmonii S. Watson, Proc. Amer. Acad. Arts 23: 261. 1888, the basionym for Caulanthus coulteri S. Watson var. lemmonii (S. Watson) Munz, recognized by Al-Shehbaz as a species distinct from Caulanthus coulteri). | |||||
