Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 22 Oct 2007 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Astragalus pachypus Greene var. jaegeri was published by Munz in Bulletin of the Southern California Academy of Sciences 31(2):67 (1932), wherein Munz ascribed the name to Munz & McBurney. [ICBN (2006) Art. 46.2 states in part "authorship of a new name or combination must always be accepted as ascribed (in this case, Munz & McBurney), even when it differs from authorship of the publication (in this case, Munz), when at least one author is common to both." Therefore, author citation corrected to Astragalus pachypus Greene var. jaegeri Munz & McBurney, from Astragalus pachypus Greene var. jaegeri Munz previously in this Index, 23 Oct 2007.]
