Astragalus lentiginosus Douglas var. latus (M. E. Jones) M. E. Jones
FABACEAE
Initial Editorial Analysis 9 Oct 2009
Source of Report for California Rosatti SMASCH notes: Taxon evidently not treated in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Initial Editorial Comments indicated as endemic to, rare in NV in Kartesz & Meacham; one record in SMASCH, UC81352 (Purpus 1871, Tulare Co., 1876); in no way mentioned in Munz
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Martin F. Wojciechowski see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Astragalus lentiginosus Douglas var. latus (M. E. Jones) M. E. Jones is to be treated as not occurring in CA, in part because Barneby (1964, 1989) indicated it to be narrowly endemic to mountains in east-central NV, and because the one accession in SMASCH (now CCH), UC81352, on which this record was based, was identified (redetermined) as Astragalus lentiginosus Douglas var. kernensis (Jeps.) Barneby in 2008 by Brian J. Knaus, Oregon State University (OSC), an identification accepted by Wojciechowski.
