Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that in Flora North America, two subspecies are recognized, Panicum capillare L. subsp. capillare, and Panicum capillare L. subsp. hillmanii (Chase) Freckmann & Lelong, which, according to Flora North America authors Freckmann and Lelong, "grows in weedy habitats in California..." [Also indicated in Flora North America is the fact that Panicum capillare L. subsp. capillare is the common subspecies, growing in weedy and dry habitats throughout the range of the species, which obviously includes CA]
