FABACEAE
·

Information from the Index of California Plant Names (ICPN)
Initial Editorial Analysis Nov 1 2001
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 4 Nov 2008 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates: that Lathyrus littoralis was published by Wilhelm Gerhard Walpers (Walp. in Authors of Plant Names) in Repertorium Botanices Systematicae 1:722 (1842); that Walpers ascribed the name to "Endl. mss." but was the sole author of the work; and that Lathyrus littoralis was based on Astrophia littoralis, published in Torrey & Gray, A Flora of North America 1(2):278 (1838), wherein Torrey & Gray ascribed that name Astrophia littoralis to "Nutt.! mss." and quoted Nuttall's description. [Therefore, author citation corrected to Lathyrus littoralis (Nutt.) Endl. ex Walp., from Lathyrus littoralis (Nutt.) Endl. previously in this Index, 2 Dec 2008.]
