Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 08 Mar 2004 e-mail from David J. Keil see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates specimen in UC or JEPS of Grevillea robusta from well-naturalized population: Near summit along California 227 between San Luis Obispo [Obispo] and Arroyo Grande; mosaic of coast live oak woodland, chaparral, and coastal scrub; ca. 200 m elev.; well established on hillside and in canyon drainage; more than 100 individuals in all stages from seedlings to mature trees; 12 Nov 1988, David Keil 21194 with Lawrence M. Kelly, Kathryn Bay, and Frieda Wertman
Correspondence 2 9 Jun 2004 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that the full publication citation is Robert Brown (R. Br. in Authors of Plant Names), Supplementum primum prodromi florae Novae Hollandiae 24. 1830, and that Brown ascribed the name to "Cunningh. MSS." but provided his own Latin description; and that although Brown didn't specify which Cunningham brother (Allan or Richard) wrote the ms, if it is assumed to be Allan Cunningham (A. Cunn. in Authors of Plant Names), the correct author citation is A. Cunn. ex R. Br., as given above and in the TROPICOS and International Plant Names Index-APNI databases.
Correspondence 3 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by David J. Keil see Comment 3
