Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 28 Aug 2006 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that in the Flora North America treatment of Erechtites, the author Ted Barkley noted "The name Erechtites has been treated traditionally as grammatically feminine; the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature (Art. 62.4) notes that generic names ending in "-ites" are to be treated as masculine." [Therefore, spelling of epithet corrected to Erechtites hieraciifolius (L.) DC., from Erechtites hieraciifolia (L.) DC. previously in this Index, 30 Aug 2006.]
Correspondence 2 12 Feb 2007 e-mail from David J. Keil to Margriet Wetherwax, including comments on numerous genera to be submitted by Keil for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that, according to David J. Keil (Family Editor for Asteraceae in The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2]), Erechtites hieraciifolius (L.) DC. does not occur in CA.
