Initial Editorial Comments Despite citation of "E. melanadenia Torr. & A. Gray" in for example Yang et al. [Molecular phylogenetics and classification of Euphorbia subgenus Chamaesyce (Euphorbiaceae), Taxon 61(4):764–789, 2012], in fact Euphorbia melanadenia was published by Torrey alone: "Professor John Torrey" alone is indicated on title page [Pacif. Railr. Rep. 4(5, no. 4):135, 1857], and no attribution to anyone else is given, so that the author citation is correct as indicated in this Index.
