Information from the Index of California Plant Names (ICPN)
Initial Editorial Analysis Nov 1 2001
Source of Report for California The Jepson Manual [Ed. 1]
Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 1 Dec 2004 e-mail from Misa Ward see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence appended verbatim is pertinent to The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] account: "Move to List 2? Location, rarity, and endangerment information needed; need quads for LAK and SMT counties. Scarcity poorly understood. NAP Co. occurrence (532C) located in 1994 is perhaps only the second confirmed in CA."
Correspondence 2 Treatment and notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] by Robert E. Preston and Alan R. Smith (Family Editor) see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Equisetum palustre L. is to be treated as native to CA, but with a note that it is poorly documented for CA, and that hybrids with _Equisetum telmateia_ subsp. _braunii_ have been reported but also only have been poorly documented for CA, from San Mateo and Marin cos.
