| Editorial Comments 1 | Correspondence 1 indicates that, according to Galen Smith, Flora North America author of Eleocharis, Eleocharis decumbens is a distinct species that is "certainly rather widespread in California and southern Oregon"; he has "seen definite records of E. decumbens from the California counties Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Fresno, Plumas, Sierra, Tulare, and Yuba, as well as Oregon cos. Jackson and Klamath. I do not have records from Amador and Shasta Cos, Calif., in my file; perhaps I failed to record them. The type is from "Mt. Shasta", presumably in Siskiyou Co. There also is a collection (LR. Abrams 5458) at DS from "Yosemite Nat. Park", i.e. from either Mariposa or Tuolumne Co." | |||||
