Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 18 Nov 2005 e-mail from Jeff Greenhouse see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 indicates that Bromus anomalus was published by Eugene Fournier (E. Fourn. in Authors of Plant Names) in Mexicanas Plantas 2:126 (1886), wherein Fournier cited "Rupr. in Bull. Acad. roy. Brux. IX, n. 8." (Bulletin de l'academie royale des sciences et belles-lettres de Bruxelles 9(2):236. 1842) as well as provided the validating description, since the name by Ruprecht [Rupr. in Authors of Plant Names, for Franz Jocef Ruprecht, 1814-1870] lacked a description or diagnosis and therefore is a nomen nudum. [Therefore, author citation expanded to Bromus anomalus Rupr. ex E. Fourn., from Bromus anomalus E. Fourn. previously in this Index, 21 Nov 2005.]
Correspondence 2 Treatment and author notes submitted for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 indicates that for The Jepson Manual [Ed. 2] Bromus anomalus Rupr. ex E. Fourn. is a name that in California has been misapplied to pls belonging instead to Bromus porteri (J. M. Coult.) Nash.
