Correspondence and Comments Subsequent to Initial Analysis
Correspondence 1 13 Jun 2006 Interchange Feedback from Richard Moe see Comment 1
Editorial Comments 1 Correspondence 1 is a reference to a paper by P. M. Beardsley & R. G. Olmstead (2002. Redefining Phrymaceae: the placement of Mimulus, tribe Mimuleae, and Phryma. Am. Jour. Bot.89:1093-1102), wherein chloroplast trnL/F and nuclear ribosomal ITS and ETS sequence data lead to the conclusions that Phryma [previously in Verbenaceae in this Index], four genera of tribe Mimuleae [including Diplacus, Mimulus, and Mimetanthe, previously included in Scrophulariaceae in this Index], and other genera form a well-supported clade that is distinct from other families in the Lamiales and that comprises a redefined Phrymaceae.
Correspondence 2 10 Jul 2013 e-mail from John Strother see Comment 2
Editorial Comments 2 Correspondence 2 includes reference to a paper [G. L. Nesom. Phytoneuron 2013-46:1--7] in which a new species, Diplacus thompsonii G. L. Nesom, is described from CA, and in which it is indicated that additional new species as well as a review of the genus are soon to be published as well, by Nesom.
