Johnson Valley: From Lucerne Valley at Junction of Hwy 247 & 18, take HWY 247 southeast for 18.5 miles. Turn right (SW) on Rattlesnake Canyon Rd. Cross a cattle guard and continue onto BLM Rd 3331., Mileage from HWY 247 is 3.2 miles. Collection site is on north side of Rd in small washes and drainages.
S of Ruby Mountain. From intersection of CA- HW 247 and CA- HW 62, head north on 247 for 11.3 miles. Turn left (W) on New Dixie Mine Rd. Continue on BLM Rd 2330., Site is 1 mile down road from 247 and collections on both sides of dirt road in hills above wash.
Northeast side of Algodones Sand Dunes: From Brawley, CA, take CA-78 E for 20 miles. Turn left on Ted Kipf Rd (also called Niland-Glamis Rd) and travel northwest for 4.6 miles. Collection predominantly on SW side of Rd.
Trilobite Wilderness area west of Essex. From Needles, Ca: Take I-40 W for 64 miles. Take Kelbaker Rd exit, turn left to head south. Take first left onto an unpaved BLM road marked with a BLM sign that says Heart of the Mojave., Continue on this unmarked road for 3.2 miles to field site which is on both sides of road.
Rattlesnake canyon in Johnson Valley. From Lucerne Valley at junction of CA- 247 (also called Old Woman Springs Rd) & CA-18, take CA-247 SE for 18.5 miles. Turn right (SW) on Rattlesnake Canyon Rd., Cross a cattle guard and continue onto BLM Rd 3331. Mileage to site from Hwy 247 is 6 miles.
