Mojave Desert; Northcentral Mojave Desert region: Calico Mountains; Close to Camp Rock in Mule Canyon, north of the city of Yermo. General collecting along washed out wash and slopes on the west side of canyon. Most collections south of the varied color badlands (down canyon). The canyon much used and abused by off roaders. Growing in sandy canyon bottom, and slopes.
Liebre Mountains region: West end of the main crest; From the Pacific Crest Trail (from the south) along road (7N23) pass the second Pacific Crest Trail that exits off north of the road., Finish near the NW corner of section 3 and started at the west end of section 12, west of Bear Gulch Camp. About a 4 mile hike from east to west (This for the Angeles National Forest road surveys).

Collected around an elevated lake sediment (tufa) east side of canyon, as far as a saddle near 35.07403N, 116.60715W., And a little north along the main canyon, pass where the canyon opens up with a fault line that runs in a northwest angle, near 35.08417N, 116.60613. Main starting point was near end of old road-trail near 35.07616N, 116.60862W.

(prospect mined or disturbed for the power lines). Collected along wide canyon in a northwest direction from here, to 34.76817N, 116.25781. Area between Lavic Mountain Mine to the east and Paymaster Mine to the west.

Northcentral Mojave Desert region: Southwest section of the Cady Mounatins: Areas north and east of Black Butte Mine, northwest of the Sleeping Beauty section. Southeast of the transmission line road., Started near 34.81756N 116.34121W traveled SE to small saddle that had little amount of sand blowed on the slope to the east of this, near 34.80312N 116.33066W. Then west to Black Butte Mine, and follow a drainage NNE from the mine site.

Just north of the transmission line road, east of the low saddle that runs between the mountains., From 34.83717N 116.31488W, near marker BM19 WBC2613 along transmission road to northwest near 34.84049N 116.32047W. Traveled up a small drainage, to base of steeper slope, then northeast across an elevated bench to the west side of a sandy wash (braided bajada).

Whitewater Canyon Bioblitz: From camp near 34.02539N, 116.68032W, east of the Paw, near the mouth of Catclaw Flat canyon. Dropped down the Whitewater River to the first wide alluvial canyon to the east, near 34.02133N, 116.67779W., Surveyed this canyon to near 34.02483N, 116.66819W. Then surveyed back to camp by climbing to saddle of ridge to the north, near 34.02655N, 116.67484, and small draw at south end of Catclaw Flat Canyon.
