Fri Feb 1 14:03:16 2008A. C. SandersMultiple corrections2nd try. The collector was Fred M. Reed, of Riverside, CA: about the earliest resident botanist this town had, though he was an orange grower by profession. He started collecting in 1903 and continued until 1938 -- he died in 1939. This collection site is near Glen Ivy Hot Springs and has coordinates around: 33.7540__N, 117.4959__W Note that Reed habitually spelled canyon the Spanish way, with no "y" and a tilda over the "n", as here.
