Notes (Field Book): Quercus douglasii. A tree 1'-2' diam. Over foothills to the height of 2500' Leaves deeply more foliaceous than Q. hindsii. Habit more like Q. alba than Q. hindsii is - in fact appearance of tree very like Q. alba. Growing in open fields.
