Breidleria Loeske, 1910.

Breidleria is a monotypic genus segregated from Hypnum on the basis of more conspicuous lanceolate pseudoparaphyllia, inflated alar cells, and an unusually prominent hyalodermis. Breidleria pratensis has not been found in California, but in Oregon it is an occasional plant of rocks and tree bases in swampy areas of the coastal forests.
