Jepson Workshops, Registration Information

ENROLLMENT

Class size is limited and participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Classes must have a minimum of 10 students. If enrollment is fewer than 10, participants will be notified of course cancellation 30 days prior to the workshop and a full refund will be sent. Information about each workshop, including a list of required supplies and equipment, will be sent prior to the workshop. Directions to the location of the course will also be provided.


FEES


Deposits: Tree of Life Series workshops require full, non-refundable payment upon registration. All other workshop require a non-refundable deposit of $75 per workshop must be included with registration. Invoices for final payment are sent 60 days prior to the course date. If full payment is not received 30 days before the workshop, space is forfeit. Please make all checks payable to UC Regents.

Course Fees: The fee for each course is listed next to the course description (member/non-member). Registration fees cover instruction, coordination, refreshments, facilities, and, when applicable, transportation (rental vans and gasoline), lodging, and meals. Friends staff aim to cover the workshop expenses while keeping the prices reasonable for participants. Course fees are listed as Members of Friends of the Jepson Herbarium price/non-member price.

SCHEDULE


Courses that start on Thursday or Friday will generally begin in the evening and conclude early Sunday afternoon. Courses that start Saturday, will begin Saturday morning and conclude Sunday around 5:00 p.m. Detailed schedules will be sent prior to the course.


CANCELLATION POLICY


If you must cancel, notify the Friends as soon as possible. All cancellations must be in writing.

If full payment has been made and your cancellation is received: 30 days or more before the starting date of the course: A credit voucher, less your $75 deposit, will be issued. 15–29 days before the starting date of the course: A credit voucher, less your $75 deposit (or $35/$50 for Tree of Life Series), may be issued if your space is filled by a wait-listed person. If your space is not filled, you will not receive a voucher.

14 days or fewer before the starting date of the course: No credit vouchers will be issued. Credit vouchers may be applied to other Friends programs within one year of the date of issue. No exceptions will be made to the cancellation policy, including personal or professional emergencies.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

To register for a course, please read the cancellation policy and return the registration form [PDF version or text version] with a $75 deposit for each course (credit card or check payable to UC Regents). For the Tree of Life series, full registration fee is required at time of sign-up.

To be added to a waiting list, follow the same registration procedure, but do not remit payment.  If a position in the workshop becomes available, you will receive a phone call or email notification that a spot has become available and you can remit payment at that time.
