Bartel 4__11__06 indicates this should be removed from the record because the tree was planted after a fire__"Assuming this is Steven Boyd's collection from the Liebre Mountains,____these small trees were misidentified and are offspring from outplanted____individuals. (I did discuss the genetics of this stand in Bartel et al____2003; see "C. forbesii Los Angeles County"). A few Tecate cypress (C.____forbesii) plants germinated after a small fire. Along with a Coulter pine,____the original trees were outplanted all over the Angeles National Forest as____part of their "reforestation" efforts in the mid 1990s. I believe this____record should be dropped from the manual. In talking to Steve, he told mehe was going to publish an errata to his local flora."

I don't think cultivated is an issue, as there are no cultivated plants at Mariposa Grove. The specimen label before me does not have the word "Grove" in parens.
