Tue Oct 21 10:10:11 2008 What I did Comment from Scott White email to us at CNDDB/CNPS:I am not an Astragalus authority, but I am fairly well familiar with the ____"Inland Empire" taxa. I compared the Ackley specimen with at least a ____dozen each of A. oocarpus and A. pomonensis. Using the JM and Munz ____descriptions and the specimens themselves, I determined it as A. ____pomonensis, based on several leaflet characers (veination, pubescence); ____inflorescence (flowers tightly spaced, uppermost open flowers spreading ____to slightly deflexed); fruit w/ valves thinner than A. oocarpus; and ____phenology (fl. and nearly mature fruit in March). I will put the ____annotation on it later this week and return it to SBBG.________Thus, so far as I can find, there still is no valid report of A. ____oocarpus for Riverside Co though it approaches Riv. Co. in the Palomar ____Mtns. (M.E. Jones 13 Jul 1929 POM).____
