Author(s):

Enter all the authors. Spell out all names that are spelled out. Do multiple authors like this:
JOHNSON, Steven C.; JONES, Ralph R.; ORCHESTI, W. Thomas

Date:

Enter the complete date, including the day and month of publication, if available.

Title:

Enter the title of an article or book section.

Source:

Enter the title of a journal or book. Spell out everything. Italics are indicated by surrounding the word to be italicised with underscores like this: _Fucus_.

Volume:

Enter the volume number of a journal.

Issue:

Enter the issue of the journal volume. Enter combined issues like this: 1-4, 1/2, etc.

Required?

This is a checkbox. Check it if the issue number is required for bibliographic purposes: that is, if successive issues are individually paginated and, for example, you might find a page 40 in four different issues of Volume 45.

Page:

Enter the range of pages thus: 234-238; 1-17. Please do not eliminate the first digit of the last page.

Illustrations:

Enter figures, plates, and other illustrative material. Use this order:
23 figs., 4 pls., 15 tables

Comments:

A catchall. Very brief precis. Include 5 or fewer scientific names. Key words, esp. those not in title. Spell out generic name the first time it is used. Italics are indicated by surrounding the word to be italicised with underscores like this: _Fucus_.
