Kirsten Johannes Graduate Student

I received my bachelor's degree in biology from U.C. Santa Cruz in 1996, and began graduate work at Berkeley in the fall of 1998. Through involvement in the PEET program I hope to combine a phylogenetic study in the Calymperaceae with my interests in broader evolutionary issues such as species concepts, biogeography, and diversification processes. I am especially interested in investigating the ways in which variation in sexual expression and reproductive strategies affect the dispersal and diversification of moss lineages.
