Jepson Flora Project: Jepson Interchange |
Chris Meacham has written a program that converts MEKA keys to the SLIKS (Stinger's Lightweight Interactive Key Software) format put together by Stinger Guala so that they can be displayed on the web. The MEKA keys written by Tom Rosatti were run through the converter, which is now part of MEKAEDIT, the program for constructing MEKA keys. The taxon names in the online keys are linked to the Jepson Flora distribution map pages for each taxon that is species rank or lower. The links below will call up a MEKA key for the taxon. The SLIKS keys should run on any computer with a JavaScript-enabled browser: over the Web or in stand-alone fashion. Just view the html file for a taxon in the Web browser.
Chris modified Stinger's script slightly by removing it to a separate file so that it does not have to be part of every key file.
At present there are problems with displaying the scripts using certain browsers: we will try to eliminate these problems soon.
