Distribution of Rosa bridgesii in California -- "Sierra Ground Rose"


Outline is extrapolated distribution as based on documented localities (dots) with identifications according to B. Ertter, mostly vouchered by herbarium specimens at the University and Jepson Herbaria.
Relatively common in the understory of mid-montane forests, including Sequoiadendron groves, in central & southern Sierra Nevada; scattered populations in northern Sierra Nevada and southern Cascade Mountains to Jackson Co., Oregon, where sometimes on bare rocky ridges.
