Cotoneaster hodjingensis G. Klotz
Habit: Shrub 0.5--1 m, sprawling; evergreen. Leaf: blade 5--10 mm, narrowly elliptic, abaxially densely tomentose, adaxially shiny, margins inrolled, tip generally acute. Flower: 7--8 mm wide; petals spreading, white, glabrous; stamens 20, filaments white, anthers red-purple; styles 2. Fruit: 6--8 mm, 5--8 mm wide, spheric to depressed-spheric, bright red, not glaucous; stones 2. Chromosomes: 2n=68.
Ecology: Shaded, disturbed ground under bird roosts; Elevation: < 100 m. Bioregional Distribution: CCo; Distribution Outside California: Washington; native to China. Flowering Time: Jun, fruiting Sep--Feb
