Chenopodium littoreum Benet-Pierce & M.G. Simpson
Habit: Annual 5--40 cm, prostrate to ascending, mat-forming. Stem: several from base. Leaf: blade 12--20 mm, length 2--3 × width, elliptic (lanceolate), fleshy, entire, +- glabrous adaxially, generally sparsely powdery abaxially, base tapered, tip acute to round, generally with small tooth. Inflorescence: clusters in axillary and terminal spikes 5--15 cm. Flower: sepals elliptic, +- flat, powdery, +- enclosing fruit. Fruit: +- 1 mm diam; wall generally free from seed, papillate. Seed: horizontal, dark brown, finely wrinkled, margin round.
Ecology: Generally sandy soils, dunes; Elevation: < 40 m. Bioregional Distribution: s CCo. Flowering Time: Jun--Oct
