Boechera glaucovalvula (M.E. Jones) Al-Shehbaz
Habit: Caudex generally not woody. Stem: generally 1 per caudex branch, from center of basal rosette at +- ground surface; 1--4.5 dm, proximally with short-stalked, 4--8-rayed hairs 0.1--0.4 mm. Leaf: basal 2--6 mm wide, entire, hairs short-stalked, 4--8-rayed, 0.1--0.4 mm; cauline 6--10, distal hairy, basal lobes 0. Inflorescence: generally 10--25-flowered, generally 1-sided in fruit; fruit pedicel reflexed, strongly curved at base, 2--10 mm, hairs appressed, branched. Flower: sepals hairy; petals 6--9 mm, 1.5--2.5 mm wide, light purple to lavender; pollen ellipsoid. Fruit: reflexed, occasionally appressed, 1.8--4.5 cm, 5--8 mm wide, glabrous; style 0.2--0.6 mm; ovules 24--62. Seed: in 2 rows, 5--6 mm; wing 1.8--2.5 mm wide. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Rocky slopes, gravelly soil, generally under desert shrubs; Elevation: 600--2000 m. Bioregional Distribution: SNE, DMoj; Distribution Outside California: southwestern Nevada. Flowering Time: Mar--Apr
