Acmispon maritimus (Nutt.) D.D. Sokoloff NATIVE Habit: Annual, often fleshy, glabrous or strigose. Stem: clustered, prostrate or ascending, 0.5--5 dm. Leaf: irregularly pinnate; stipules generally not apparent; leaflets 3--7, 5--15 mm, obovate to +- round; axis flat, +- blade-like. Inflorescence: generally 2--4-flowered (1st formed often 1--2-flowered, fruit often only 1), peduncle 5--15 mm, bracted or not. Flower: calyx lobes < tube, strigose; corolla bright yellow; stigma glabrous. Fruit: dehiscent, ascending, exserted, generally 1.5--3 cm, narrowly oblong, often curved, flat, occasionally with small horn-like processes; beak hooked, 0.5--1.5 mm. Seed: 5--9. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
