Eremothera minor (A. Nelson) W.L. Wagner & Hoch
Habit: Plant generally +- red, generally densely and minutely +- gray strigose, in inflorescence also glandular; rosette +- 0. Stem: +- erect, 3--30 cm, peeling. Leaf: 5--45 mm, +- oblanceolate; distal-most +- linear, +- entire. Inflorescence: erect; flowers from plant base. Flower: hypanthium 0.5--1.9 mm; sepals 0.8--1.8 mm; petals 0.8--1.3 mm, white fading +- red. Fruit: 15--25 mm, 0.8--1.2 mm wide, spreading, +- cylindric, tapered to tip, twisted and wavy. Seed: 1.1--1.2 mm, minutely pitted in rows. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Sandy slopes, flats, sagebrush scrub; Elevation: +- 1200 m. Bioregional Distribution: MP (Wendel, Surprise Valley); Distribution Outside California: to Washington, Wyoming, Colorado. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul Note: Self-pollinated.
