Camissoniopsis lewisii (P.H. Raven) W.L. Wagner & Hoch
Habit: Annual, rosetted; hairs spreading, in inflorescence glandular. Stem: decumbent and branched or erect and simple, < 60 cm. Leaf: 10--80 mm; cauline narrowly lance-elliptic, minutely dentate, +- sessile. Flower: hypanthium 1.5--4 mm; sepals 1.7--3.5 mm; petals 2.5--5.5 mm, basal spots 1--2; < 5% of pollen grains 4--5-angled. Fruit: 13--20 mm, 1.8--2.2 mm wide, moderately stout, 4-angled, generally 1-coiled. Seed: 0.7--0.8 mm. Chromosomes: 2n=14.
Ecology: Grassland, sandy or clay soils, coastal; Elevation: < 300 m. Bioregional Distribution: SCo, w PR; Distribution Outside California: northern Baja California. Flowering Time: Mar--Jun Note: Self-pollinated. Related to Camissoniopsis bistorta.
