Plagiobothrys nitens (Greene) I.M. Johnst.
Habit: Annual, glabrous to sparse-short-strigose. Stem: ascending to erect, 1--1.5 dm, generally branched above base. Leaf: cauline, lower 2--5 cm. Inflorescence: bracts +- throughout. Flower: calyx 1.5--3 mm; corolla limb 1--2 mm diam. Fruit: nutlet 1--1.5 mm, ovate, +- flat, asymmetric, shiny, gray to tan; abaxial ridge +- 0, lateral ridges 0, cross-ribs +- 0; adaxial ridge to beyond middle, +- folded to 1 side below; scar generally near base, elongate, with thin, incurved margins, +- sunken.
Ecology: Wet areas below springs; Elevation: 1510 m. Bioregional Distribution: SNE (Deep Springs Lake, ne Inyo Co.); Distribution Outside California: Nevada, northern Utah. Flowering Time: May--Jul

Unabridged Note: Apparently most closely related to more northerly occurring Plagiobothrys cusickii. See note under Plagiobothrys cognatus.
