Boechera pinetorum (Tidestr.) Windham & Al-Shehbaz
Habit: Short-lived perennial herb; caudex not woody. Stem: generally 1 per caudex branch, from center of basal rosette at +- ground surface; 2--9.6 dm, proximally with simple and short-stalked, 2--5-rayed hairs to 1 mm. Leaf: basal 2--11 mm wide, entire (minutely dentate); hairs short-stalked, 2--5-rayed (few simple) hairs 0.2--0.5 mm; cauline 7--33, distal +- hairy or glabrous, basal lobes 1--3 mm. Inflorescence: 15--63-flowered, not 1-sided in fruit; fruit pedicel reflexed, generally abruptly recurved near base, 4--12 mm, hairs few spreading, simple and 2-rayed, or glabrous. Flower: sepals hairy; petals 4--6 mm, 1--1.5 mm wide, white to lavender. Fruit: reflexed to +- appressed, 4.5--8.5 cm, 1.5--2 mm wide, glabrous; style 0.05--0.4 mm; ovules 70--110. Seed: in 1 row, 1.5--1.8 mm; wing 0.15--0.3 mm wide.
Ecology: Rock outcrops, gravelly soil, in meadows, open conifer forest; Elevation: 1100--3200 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, SNH; Distribution Outside California: to Oregon, Nevada. Flowering Time: May--Jul
