Boechera breweri (S. Watson) Al-Shehbaz
Habit: Caudex woody. Stem: generally 1 per caudex branch, from center of basal rosette at ground surface or elevated on woody base; 0.6--4.5 dm, proximally with simple and long-stalked, 2-rayed hairs (simple only) 0.4--1 mm. Leaf: basal 3--11 mm wide, entire (dentate), hairs long-stalked, 2--4-rayed, 0.4--0.8 mm; cauline 5--28, distal hairy, basal lobes generally < 3 mm. Inflorescence: 7--30-flowered, not 1-sided in fruit; fruit pedicel ascending to spreading-ascending, straight, 3--25 mm, glabrous or hairs spreading, simple and 2-rayed. Flower: sepals hairy; petals 7--12 mm, 2--4 mm wide, purple (lavender); pollen ellipsoid. Fruit: ascending to spreading-ascending, not appressed, 3.5--10 cm, 1.5--2.2 mm wide, glabrous (sparsely hairy); style < 0.3 mm; ovules 48--96. Seed: in 1 row, 1.2--1.7 mm; wing 0.1--0.2 mm wide.
