Silene salmonacea T.W. Nelson, J.P. Nelson, & S.A. Erwin
Habit: Perennial herb 5--14 mm; rhizome branched. Stem: erect, gray-green, canescent. Leaf: lowest much-reduced, 2.5--3.5 cm, 0.4--0.8 cm wide, spoon-shaped to oblanceolate. Flower: ascending to erect; calyx 18--23 mm, canescent, gray-green, distinctly 10-nerved, lobes 4--7 mm; petal claw glabrous, green becoming white at base, appendages 2, limb salmon-orange, lobes 4, equal; stamens long-exserted; styles 3, included. Fruit: only immature seen; +- spheric; stalk +- 5 mm, glabrous. Seed: +- 2.2 mm, +- red.
Ecology: Serpentine and iron-rich soils in openings or mixed-evergreen forest; Elevation: 760--1050 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR. Flowering Time: Jun
