Boechera yorkii S. Boyd
Habit: Caudex woody. Stem: generally 1 per caudex branch, from center of basal rosette at +- ground surface; 1--3 dm, proximally with short-stalked, 4--7-rayed hairs 0.1--0.5 mm, occasionally with simple and short- to long-stalked, 2--3-rayed hairs to 1.5 mm. Leaf: basal 1--3 mm wide, entire; hairs short-stalked, 4--7-rayed, 0.3--0.6 mm; cauline 9--17, distal hairy, basal lobes 0. Inflorescence: 8--35-flowered, not 1-sided in fruit; fruit pedicel reflexed, straight, 1--2 mm, hairs appressed, branched. Flower: sepals hairy; petals 9--10 mm, 0.8--1 mm wide, +- yellow to brick-red; pollen ellipsoid. Fruit: immature fruit reflexed, not appressed, +- 4 cm, hairy throughout; style +- 0.3 mm.
Ecology: Calcareous rock crevices, ledges; Elevation: 2250--2400 m. Bioregional Distribution: DMtns (Last Chance Range, Inyo Co.). Flowering Time: May Note: Mature fruit, seed not seen to date.
