Synthyris cordata (A. Gray) A. Heller
Leaf: petiole <= 13 cm; blade <= 7 cm, <= 6.5 cm wide, ovate to widely ovate, base lobed to cordate, tip acute to obtuse. Inflorescence: curved to reclining on soil in fruit, <= 14 cm; flowers 5--10. Flower: corolla <= 9 mm, blue, tube glabrous to minutely hairy; filaments <= 7.5 mm; style <= 9 mm; ovules 4. Fruit: <= 3.5 mm, <= 9 mm wide; margins sparsely hairy. Seed: slightly cupped. Chromosomes: 2n=24.
Ecology: Moist forest, serpentine; Elevation: 100--1000 m. Bioregional Distribution: NW; Distribution Outside California: to Oregon. Flowering Time: Feb--Apr
