Calystegia silvatica (Kit.) Griseb. subsp. disjuncta Brummitt
Habit: Perennial herb from rhizome, glabrous. Stem: climbing, <= 6 m. Leaf: blade generally 5--12 cm, lobed. Inflorescence: peduncle 1-flowered, axillary; bracts hiding calyx, strongly sac-like at base, margins overlapped. Flower: sepals 15--23 mm; corolla generally 55--75 mm, white. Chromosomes: 2n=22.
Ecology: Disturbed places; Elevation: < 50 m. Bioregional Distribution: NCo, CCo; Distribution Outside California: to British Columbia; native to western Mediterranean.
