Lathyrus nevadensis S. Watson var. nevadensis
Habit: Perennial herb, glabrous or puberulent. Stem: angled or flanged, not winged. Leaf: stipules small, narrow or wide; leaflets 4--8, generally opposite, 1.5-- +- 4 cm, generally elliptic or widely ovate; tendril branched and coiled or bristle-like. Inflorescence: 2--4-flowered. Flower: calyx tube > lobes; corolla 13--25 mm, white to blue-purple. Fruit: glabrous. Chromosomes: 2n=28.
Ecology: Conifer, mixed forests; Elevation: 450--2300 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoR, CaR, n&c SN; Distribution Outside California: to Washington. Flowering Time: Apr--Jul Note: Infraspecific taxa based on tendrils, leaflet number, flower size possibly not warranted in California.
Synonyms: Lathyrus nevadensis subsp. lanceolatus (Howell) C.L. Hitchc.; Lathyrus nevadensis var. pilosellus (M. Peck) C.L. Hitchc.
