Habit: Low, occasionally spreading. Leaf: 10--20+ mm; glaucous stomatal band +- 1--1.5 × as wide as green leaf margin. Seed Cone: 6--9 mm. Seed: 3 per cone.
Ecology: Rocky soil, slopes, summits; Elevation: < 2800 m. Bioregional Distribution: SNH; Distribution Outside California: +- to Alaska, northeastern North America.
