Holodiscus discolor var. glabrescens (Greenm.) Jeps.
Habit: Plant 0.3--1 m, +- dense. Stem: twigs glabrous to puberulent; glands 0 or generally visible. Leaf: petiole generally indistinct; blade 0.3--3 cm, round to obovate, both surfaces glabrous to puberulent, hairs much longer on margins, veins, glands visible, teeth entire, above middle, base generally wedge-shaped. Inflorescence: generally 2--8 cm, 1.5--5 cm wide; branches 0--few.
Ecology: Rocky places, outcrops; Elevation: 600--3020 m. Bioregional Distribution: CaRH, NCoRH (Mendocino Co.), MP; Distribution Outside California: to Oregon, Utah. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug
