Chenopodium strictum Roth var. glaucophyllum (Aellen) Wahl
Habit: Annual 45--100(120) cm; proximal branches ascending. Leaf: 15--25(30) mm, lanceolate to lance-oblong, sides +- parallel from near base; generally finely serrate, base tapered to +- truncate, tip obtuse. Inflorescence: clusters in simple and occasionally branched spikes. Flower: sepals ovate, weakly keeled, white-margined, sparsely powdery, not enclosing fruit at maturity. Fruit: wall generally attached to seed, thin, smooth. Seed: horizontal, +- 1.2 mm diam, lenticular, oval, margin ridged; seed coat black, smooth, shiny. Chromosomes: 2n=36.
Ecology: Open, disturbed places; Elevation: < 1700 m. Bioregional Distribution: CaRF, SN, GV, SnFrB, SCoRO, SCo, SnBr, DMtns (uncommon); Distribution Outside California: to Canada; native to eastern United States. Flowering Time: Aug--Oct
