Calochortus longebarbatus S. Watson var. longebarbatus
Stem: 10--30 cm, generally simple, bulblets present. Leaf: basal 20--30 cm, persistent; cauline 1--2. Inflorescence: flowers 1--4, erect; bracts 2--6 cm. Flower: perianth bell-shaped; sepals 15--20 mm, lance-ovate; petals 20--30 mm, widely obovate, pink to lavender, with central red-purple crescent, not ciliate, sparsely long-hairy, nectary bordered below by ciliate membrane, above by short hairs; filaments 7--10 mm, dilated at base, anthers 3--4 mm, obtuse to short-pointed, lilac. Fruit: erect, 20--25 mm, widely elliptic to +- spheric, winged. Seed: irregular, light brown, net-like. Chromosomes: 2n=20.
Ecology: Vernal meadows, heavy clay soil; Elevation: 1200--1900 m. Bioregional Distribution: CaRH, MP; Distribution Outside California: to south-central Washington. Flowering Time: Jun--Aug Note: Threatened by grazing.
