Pectocarya linearis (Ruiz & Pav.) DC. subsp. ferocula (I.M. Johnst.) Thorne
Stem: prostrate to decumbent, 6--26 cm. Inflorescence: pedicel in fruit 1.5--3 mm. Fruit: nutlets 2--3.8 mm, linear-oblong, straight or +- recurved near tip; margin teeth free +- to base, width at base generally << length. Chromosomes: 2n=48.
Ecology: Roadsides, grassy slopes, clearings; Elevation: 5--2100 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNF, Teh, GV, CW, SW, DMoj, w DSon; Distribution Outside California: northern Baja California; also southern South America. Flowering Time: Feb--May Note: Apparently rare, scattered in D.
