Orobanche californica subsp. jepsonii (Munz) Heckard
Habit: Plant 10--35 cm. Stem: generally branched, generally > 6 cm. Inflorescence: 5--20 cm. Flower: corolla 25--40 mm, +- white or +- pink to pale yellow-brown, tube gradually widened to 5--8 mm, veins generally +- purple. Chromosomes: 2n=48.
Ecology: Uncommon. Generally dry flats, slopes, generally on perennial herb and shrub Asteraceae; Elevation: < 2200 m. Bioregional Distribution: KR, NCoR, CaR, SNF, GV, SnFrB, SCoR. Flowering Time: Jul--Sep Note: Variation suggests an unnatural group; may include hybrids of other Orobanche californica subspecies.
