Orobanche californica subsp. feudgei (Munz) Heckard
Habit: Plant 10--30 cm. Stem: generally branched distally, stout. Inflorescence: +- flat- or round-topped; branches generally < 9 cm. Flower: corolla 25--35 mm, tube +- stout, abruptly expanded above sinus, > 4 mm wide at constriction, forming hump on throat 8--10 mm wide, lips moderately recurved, +- white to +- yellow, purple-tinged and/or +- red veined. Chromosomes: 2n=48.
Ecology: Dry washes, slopes, flats, primarily on Artemisia tridentata; Elevation: 700--2500 m. Bioregional Distribution: s SNH, Teh, TR, PR, s SNE, DMoj; Distribution Outside California: to Baja California. Flowering Time: May--Jul Note: Plants with elongate inflorescence from SW chaparral/oak woodland on Isocoma, or from SNE, DMoj on Chrysothamnus that key here are undescribed subspecies.
