Monardella hypoleuca subsp. lanata (Abrams) Munz
Habit: Cespitose, strongly sweet-scented. Stem: 10--50 cm, +- densely hairy. Leaf: 20--40 mm (including petiole, (0)2--5 mm), 3--9(12) mm wide, lance-linear, +- arched between rolled-under margins, adaxially +- densely hairy. Inflorescence: flower clusters 1--few per main stem, 11--25 mm wide, generally subtended by unmodified leaves; bracts narrowly ovate to ovate. Flower: calyx (6)8--9 mm; corolla (10)12--16 mm, white.
Ecology: Chaparral, rocky, granitic slopes or hilltops; Elevation: 300--1500 m. Bioregional Distribution: sw PR (San Diego Co.); Distribution Outside California: northern Baja California. Flowering Time: May--Oct Note: Intergrades with Monardella hypoleuca subsp. intermedia in small zone where adjacent.
